The Challenge
RioCan Living was building a 24-storey residential building and needed a company able to provide both secure card access and surveillance systems, while also creating beautiful and functional audio-visual elements in amenity spaces. Capello Systems answered the call and was able to provide both under one banner.
The Solution
Each of the 213 units was equipped with an elegant wireless card reader. These readers exceed all industry safety standards and give peace of mind and security to residents and management alike through Bluetooth communication with gateways and nodes networked throughout the building. Amenity spaces and building entrances are secured with traditional wired doors and electric locks. All electronic locks communicate with the server, establishing an audit trail and alerting of possible issues such as offline devices or low batteries.
Anyone entering the building will be greeted by one of our top-of-the-line entry panels. The touch screen system displays a beautiful screensaver when not in use, and the programmable, customizable directory allows for tenants to be reachable, but recorded in a way that maximizes safety and protection of information.
The exterior, parkade, and common areas of the building are monitored by a video surveillance system; 4k resolution cameras with colored night vision technology that are working day and night to ensure resident safety. The recordings are stored on a network video recorder and can be accessed directly or remotely by staff and emergency personnel, should the unfortunate need arise. Capello Systems provided beautiful and easy-to-use audio-visual systems for amenity spaces such as the E-Sports Lounge, the Games Room, the Yoga Room, and more. Digital signage displays decorate the building’s visually stunning lobby. Soothing jazz music plays throughout the space on our speaker solution, complete with a Bluetooth amplifier for staff convenience.
